Our cows at Hunter Cattle Company receive:
- NO steroids
- NO hormones
- NO resistance building antibiotics
- NO animal byproducts
Our Commitment
- All animals will be free from antibiotics, added growth hormones, steroids, pesticides, and confinement. Animals with the need to receive antibiotics for health reasons will be removed from the program.
- Animals will be of genetic type with the ability to finish on forage at proper body condition and maturity. This will be established through visual appraisal, genetic verifiers (tenderness gene), carcass testing, or all inclusive.
- Animals will be humanely handled and processed with minimum amount of stress and crowding.
- Harvesting and processing of these animals is accomplished with a minimal amount of stress and under the strict guidelines of the USDA and in addition, third party humane auditors.
- Partnering farms will adhere to the same protocols and standards.
Hunter Cattle Company believes in the health benefits of Grassfed Beef, Pastured Pork and Free – Range Poultry and Eggs. Our family owned and operated farm is committed to providing the healthiest, best tasting meats and eggs for your breakfast, lunch, and dinner plate. On our farm, as well as our partnering farms, we raise and finish our cattle 100% grassfed, free to roam and graze. Our pigs are pastured, free to roam and root the way they were intended to. Our chickens get their nutrients from the fields making their meat tasty and the eggs richer than those bought at the grocery store. Our animals receive no added growth hormones, steroids, or antibiotics, and are not subject to feedlots or cages. Hunter Cattle is committed to the humane treatment of all the animals on our farm, ensuring their health and happiness at all times.
When clean eating and the desire for local meats started to rise above our own supply, we were thankful to have neighbors in the area who were willing to start raising animals with us. We now have certified farms that are raising animals under the same standards, audited and certified the same. We are blessed to be able to support local farmers in this way and hope to continue to grow and help other family farms who love raising livestock naturally.
